To all contributors, friends and sympathizers of our Association: Thanks to your valuable support – the project is gaining momentum!
It is with joy that I announce that the work on the house that will house the children is almost finished, everything should be ready within two weeks. It remains to finish the fence, build the showers and kitchen, and finalize the plumbing. Much of the essential material to accommodate some 20 children has also been purchased, as well as that to begin a small sewing workshop.
Our local foundation (nonprofit association) of which Dr. Darock, the director of Mwenga Hospital who is working hard to implement the project is president, still has to overcome some bureaucratic hurdles, but it should not be long before it is legally registered.
We therefore expect to be able to accommodate the children and young women who will benefit from the workshop within a few weeks, and we are beginning the recruitment process which will not be easy because we want to select the people who are truly most in need. We will update you when we start activities with the children.
Although we have tried to reduce expenses as much as possible in the sense of essentiality, the needs are many and the work to seek funds is big and not easy especially at this early stage. We trust in your support in whatever way you want to offer them!
